What is Builder Pro, and how is it different from an icon pack?
An icon pack holds pictures: the Stream Deck app adds your keys to its icon library and you put each one on a key yourself, and set what it does. Builder Pro exports the deck itself, as a .streamDeckProfile: double-click it and your Stream Deck is set up — every key in its place, with its hotkey, website, text or media action wired. Your first profile is free. After that Builder Pro is €9.99, once, for life: unlimited profiles, every Stream Deck model, Mac and Windows, and your decks on every computer you enter your licence key on. No subscription.
What size should a Stream Deck icon be?
Square. This tool exports 288×288 pixels — the size every key in this catalog ships at — and the Stream Deck app scales a square image down to the key of each model, so one file works on the Mini, the Neo, the MK.2, the XL and the Stream Deck +. There is a 144×144 export as well if you want a smaller file.
How do I install the icon pack?
Unzip the download and double-click the .streamDeckIconPack file inside. The Stream Deck app installs it and your keys appear in its icon library under the pack's name, ready to put on any key. Exporting a pack with the same name again replaces the old one. The zip also carries every key as a 288×288 PNG and a picture of your deck layout.
How do I put a custom icon on a Stream Deck key?
Select the key in the Stream Deck app, then drag the image onto the icon preview in the panel at the bottom of the window, or use the small menu beside that preview and choose Set from File. Only the picture changes; the action the key fires stays the same.
What kind of image works best on a Stream Deck key?
A PNG or SVG with a transparent background, square, at least 128×128 pixels — a logo or a glyph rather than a photo. A photo keeps its background and shows as a small square picture. Pick a background it stands out on: a light image on a dark background, a dark one on a light background. The tool checks all of this when you add a file and says what it found, and whatever you put in, the download is a square PNG the Stream Deck app accepts.
Is anything uploaded when I use my own image?
No. The icon library is a file the page downloads once, and the drawing and the PNG export both happen in your browser. An image you add is resized and drawn on your own computer and never sent anywhere.
Can I use the icons I make for anything?
The icons come from four open-source libraries: Tabler Icons (MIT), Google's Material Symbols (Apache 2.0), Bootstrap Icons (MIT) and Simple Icons (CC0), and all four allow personal and commercial use. Every exported pack carries the licence of each library it uses, which is what those licences ask. The 3,333 brand logos are free to use under their licence but remain their owners' trademarks: fine on your own deck; check the brand's guidelines before selling a pack with one in it.
How do I make a Stream Deck key that changes when I press it?
Give it a second state. A toggle in the Stream Deck app — mute, camera, a scene, lights — has a State 1 and a State 2, each with its own image. Select the key, choose Add a second state, and edit what it shows when it is on: the tool starts it red, with the icon's on/off twin where the library has one, like a microphone and a crossed-out microphone. The export carries both images, named -state-1 and -state-2, so each goes on its state.
Can a key show just the icon, or just the text?
Yes. Under the label, Show picks Icon & label, Icon or Label. Icon hides the label and lets the icon take the whole key; Label drops the icon and sets the words large, on one line or two. The label you typed is kept either way, so switching back costs nothing.
Can I design the Stream Deck + touch strip?
Yes. Pick the Stream Deck + or + XL and the touch strip above the dials becomes editable: click the segment over a dial, give it an icon, a label and a colour, the same way as a key. The export adds a touch-strip folder with each segment at 200×100 — the size of one dial's part of the screen — and the whole strip as one image.
Can I share a deck I made?
Share copies a link that opens your deck, keys, colours, states and touch strip included, in anyone's browser. The deck travels inside the link itself, so nothing is uploaded or stored anywhere. Images you added yourself are the one thing a link can't carry; those keys open with their last icon.
What are the bar and the folder type for?
The bar is the category stripe the catalog's profiles use: every key in a folder shares its colour, so Editing and Transport can be told apart at a glance. Put it at the top, bottom, left or right, or turn it off. A folder key is the tile a profile opens on — the folder's name alone, large, with the bar along the bottom — so a deck you lay out here can look like one of the catalog's.
